- Designer bed/mattress tester. Sleeping on the job and having a lie-in would be allowed.
- Professional house-sitter. Apparently, there are a lot of rich people in this world and they’d like their home to be safe when they’re away and they often leave their home to the responsibility of a house sitter, who ensures that when the home owners are away, they can live in their home like it is their own
- Screenplay or script reader. I'd be good at it. I could help actors like Robert De Niro and Brendan Fraser make better movie choices. Is there a job opening for that?
- Dramatic actor in infomercials. I'm a terrible actor too, so it doesn't seem like much of a stretch that I could make my way to an advertisement for a product you never knew you needed.
- Ice-cream taste tester Definitely a win-win situation here. I hear they give you a gold-plated spoon?
- The person who edits trailers. Have you ever noticed how they always pick the best parts of the movie and there is always a kicking song playing in the background? And then you go see the actual movie and surprise surprise, you’ve already seen all the parts worth seeing. Anyways, I love movie trailers.
- A buyer for a department store. You get to pick the clothes they sell. Complete power.
- Elf at Santa's workshop. I'll work at the teddy-bear department, stuff each one with hugs and good wishes.
- Professional list-maker. Because I have OCL. Obsessive compulsive list-making.

My Christmas Eve Night
What do you do when you're alone on the night of Christmas Eve? Well I binged on cake (I now have indigestion) and am watching feel-good movies! And who doesn’t love a good Christmas film? The celebratory spirit, the themes of family, friendship and romance, the inevitable 'moral of the story'—all these contribute to the warm and fuzzy feeling that comes with the season.
The Holiday
"If you were a melody... I used only the good notes."
Bridget Jones Diary
I love Hugh Grant, his accent and sexy crows feet, even though he plays the bad guy.
Love Actually
"I'll just be hanging around the mistletoe, hoping to be kissed."
The Family Stone
This romantic comedy is all somehow true to the message of Christmas. I think this is why I cry. Because when the final element is introduced – that mum is dying of cancer – and Everett and his mother end their bitter spat in tears over this, there is brokenness perfected by love. This is it – this the why of Christmas. We are a broken people, a broken world, with imperfection; there is no sense and no hope until love breaks into this brokenness, right into the thick of it and somehow, makes it beautiful.
While You Were Sleeping
"Seeing isn't believing. Believing is seeing."
Certainly, a Christmas classic.

While You Were Sleeping
A decently, traditional and predictable romantic comedy that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, and at the end of it all, sigh a sigh of admiration.

White Christmas
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know.
Where the treetops glisten,
And children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow.
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write.
May your days be merry and bright.
And may all your Christmases be white.
Just like the ones I used to know.
Where the treetops glisten,
And children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow.
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write.
May your days be merry and bright.
And may all your Christmases be white.
White Christmas - Bing Crosby
Holiday Magic
Now that I've really been able to spend my time focusing on the
holiday magic, (waiting for my white Christmas) rather than being too busy, I've had the time to spend much needed QT, making memories with family and relatives who I
love, and some new friends, and I've realized my favorite things about the Christmas season
are limitless.
Festive gatherings, greeting cards, metallic tinsels, kris kringle, Christmas carols played universally, the spirit of joy and giving, the sound of Salvation Army bells ringing from every street corner and subway station.
I love the falling snow flakes and contemplating on how each is unique and different, and all the twinkle Christmas lights. I love Michael Buble's Christmas album, the one by Glee cast, and decided that John Mayer really needs to make one too.
But what will top the list this year as my favourite thing about the holiday season, is to tell people the true reason for the season. It's also the one time of the year that I get to wish the people on the phone, the bank teller and the bus driver a "(very) Merry Christmas," and I think that's what makes me most happy.
By the way, I just came back from a Christmas party dressed, unintentionally and amusingly, better yet voguishly, as a Christmas tree - a lovely deep pine green poncho, woolen red scarf, and thick black tights. And I think I may have played the most intense game of Jenga in my life.
