Dear...

Dear celebrity crush,
Please get on Facebook more often. It's hard to stalk someone who doesn't regularly update...

Dear leg hair and arm pit hair,
Please grow as slowly as my head hair. I'm pretty sure I waxed/shave less than a week ago.

Dear person comparing period cramps with diarrhoea cramps,
You're saying it can't be that bad? No uterus? No opinion!!!

Dear People magazine,
You obviously got it all wrong! 2011 was clearly the year of Ryan Gosling! Bradley Cooper is so 2010 and a bore.

Dear Ryan Gosling,
I can only assume you turned down People's "Sexiest man alive" title and let Bradley Cooper have the honour. That was so noble of you. I know you have better things to do. You have feminist wisdom to spout, an awesome dog to walk, epic movies to make, art fights to stop, tumblrs and blogs to inspire. Props to you Ryan!

Dear boy that I tutor,
Please don't come into my personal space, the invisible bubble that is psychologically mine.

Dear friends who’ve borrowed books from me and haven’t yet returned them,
Just a friendly reminder to return them when you’ve read them. I’m waiting on these: Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of secrets, Empire of the Sun,  Pride and Prejudice, Marley and meCat and mouse, The Shack, and Perfume: Story of a murderer. Merci!

Dear Lulu,
Thank you for getting fur all over my clothes. Because people need to know I belong to you. Thank you for lying on my covers when I have to make the bed. Because I probs don’t need to anyway. Thank you for watching Ryan-a-thon with me. You’re right. He is quite something, isn’t he? I just wish you were able to open the door for me when I sneak in at 3am in the morning.

Happy 31st Birthday, Ryan.

By your next birthday, I'm going to move to Studio City (right in your hood!), and frequent Disneyland, and Maison 140, where your band plays. Maybe I'll get a waitressing job at your favourite Moroccan restaurant. One way or another, you'll show up, because you're Ryan-omnipresent-Gosling. I will adopt a irresistible-oh-so-impossible-to-resist puppy and take a hike. Hopefully I'll bump into you and my cute, clever puppy will do the leash tangle with your dog, George (like in 101 Dalmatians). If Eva is with you, I'll just "accidentally" push her off the mountain. I kid, I kid! I'm not a horrible person, Ryan.
Thank you for existing! Happy belated birthday.

Dear...

Dear high school girls who yelled "hipster" at me,
I may study design, buy imported fashion magazines, wear lipstick, get drugged on coffee and possess apple products, but I don't really identify with the hipster lifestyle, alright? The term is so broad I just happened to make the cut!

Dear Ryan Gosling,
How did you suddenly gain man-god status? You're everywhere now (in the virtual world). You've become Ryan-omnipresent-Gosling. Anywho, so I watched Drive today. I loved the movie, though I was initially horrified at the violence. You just didn't seem to be the type of guy to violently lash out and stamp on people's heads. And that bathroom scene where you're face is covered in blood, and you just stood there, in character, slowly backing out? I just died.

Dear all bloggers blogging about bumping into Ryan Gosling in the street, riding the subway with Ryan Gosling,  petting Ryan Gosling's dog, shaking Ryan Gosling's hand,
I am extremely envious! (I don't even think the word 'envious' is strong enough!) When I read about your stories, I vicariously imagine myself as you, and squeal and squirm, and squeal and squirm again. Squirming to get outta here and move to NEW YORK CITY, BABY!

Dear Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire,
How do I meet/bump into you? Where do you hang out when not on set?

Dear Steve Jobs,
Nobody mourns you loss more than coffee lovers. Without MacBooks, cafes would be empty and have to close down! There wouldn't be a cafe every 100m full of thick-framed, tattoo-ed, skinny jean wearing 20's-30's lounging for hours, toting their Apple products. More cafes to choose from! The coffee world salutes you!

Dear future husband,
I was wondering if you'd leave the naming of our kids up to moi? Merci.

Dear God,
I need you, I need you more. More today.

Dear...

Dear girl quietly pooing in the next cubicle,
Go for it, poo your heart out. I promise I won't judge you. It's really weird. We all do it, and we all know we do it, yet we allow it to isolate us. As a human race, we must come together and banish our shame. One for all. All for pooooooo!

Dear Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore,
Come on guys, work it out! You two practically started the 'cougar trend'. If you split the whole trend will go bust, and guys will go back to dating people their own age. That's just going to tighten the girl supply. And I'm not getting any younger, alright!
Dear ready-for-summertime babes,
As I sweat my face off and looking like a gross red blotchy monster, you walk past me looking flawless in your short shorts and tank tops. Hmmph!

Dear Open-door women,
I think you're all such rare and precious gems. If I were a guy, I'd date you all, and would have a hard time picking which one to marry, because you're all so beautiful inside out! God is so good to put you in my life!

Dear quiet emo boy,
Where are you? Where have you been all semester?

Dear future husband,
I can't believe you want to hang out with me for life. Thank you for being the person out there that actually wants to talk to me every night, support my Harry Potter and Chronicles of Narnia re-reading habits, piggy-back me to the toilet when I ceebs to use my legs, and adore my cackling laugh.

Dear God,
You have won me over! Yet again.

Dear...

Dear Ryan Gosling,
You have to stop. Stop being so Ryan Gosling. Stop making all the girls go giggly! In all your films,  you have this look like that woman is the most important thing in the universe. You only have nice things to say about ex-girlfriends Sandra Bullock and Rachel McAdams. You also say the best things ever about your female co-stars. Stop being so you, Ryan Gosling. You are a life-ruiner!
What a hero! Swoon!
Dear haughty, ungrateful, rude, arrogant, selfish, inconsiderate, disrespectful, insolent twat,
Sometimes I think, "Why even bother ?" just want to leave you and your life filled with lonely, friendless birthdays. But you know what? I believe unkind people need kindness the most. So I will continue to remember you birthdays.

Dear music man,
Thank you. Normally I'd think you were annoying, but it was a long day, and hearing Hawk Nelson's "Live life loud" at a volume that made me worry about your hearing rejuvenated me on my commute home.

Dear Justin Timberlake,
I liked you better when you made music.

Dear God,
You are so undeniably real and you're just CRAZY.

Dear self,
Sometimes it’s important to have faith in yourself and know that you’re doing the best you can and that’s the best anyone will ever do. You’re doing so much better than you even realize. So live it up and enjoy it!

Dear future husband,
I’m sorry about a lot of things you will have to deal with, the least of which include my singing out of tune and sticking anything I can find into my ears. I hope there are a few things that balance it all out. I will make you lemon meringue pie, I promise! And I will appreciate you not divorcing me for not being able to let go of Bearemy (my teddy-bear of a son) and Ryan Gosling.

Note to self,

Look! How cool is this? I'm absolutely adoring the "feeling sleepy" pose! What is your favourite pose?

Dear...

Dear high school boy who followed me from the bus stop, then to tap me on the shoulders to ask if I wanted to be you date to your formal,
You're cute. Sorry I turned you down because I was scared it might be illegal.

Dear Gwaks,
Thanks for pointing out the true things inside of me that I've been afraid to see.

Dear Sydney gentlemen,
When in doubt, go back to basics – a white button down shirt, plain colour wool sweater, blue or grey blazer and pants. Solid colours and classic shapes work every single time. Here's a quick colour formula: white goes with everything, so does grey and navy blue, maroon and beige is an amazing combination, as is navy and beige, dark military green is awesome with navy, beige and grey, green and red generally looks like you're trying to pull off Christmas Elf-chic (hey, I'm good with pulling off Christmas tree-chic!), and navy blue is always better than black.

Dear ASSumer,
I'm not the money I make. I'm not the people I talk to. I'm not the clothes I'm wearing. I'm not the things I lack. I'm not the house I live in. I'm not the mistakes I carry. I'm not my past and history. Don't just assume.

Dear Daniel Powter,
How did you know exactly how I feel? I really need a blue-sky holiday.

Dear friends that are overseas,
Please stop checking in, in awesome places! I get  seriously jealous!

Dear dark warrior,
Less than three.

Dear self,
Just stop it. Stop stalking lovey dovey photos of couples. Stop it. Stop! There will be a time when you can rub it on everyone's faces too.

Dear...

Dear readers,
Sorry for the intermittent blogging lately everyone. It may technically be uni holidays but I have been crazy busy, because I know when semester begins, officially tomorrow, I won't be able to do the things I've been doing now. I'm so bummed.

Dear all people I said I'd have coffee with yet still haven't,
Please wait, you're turn will come around! Soon. I promise.

Dear Severus Snape,
Oh, Snape! Hear that "crack"? It's the sound of my heart breaking every time I think of you. The saddest love story of the decade.
Dear Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2,
"It all ends."??? I will now have to fill that void with Harry Potter merchandise and creepy fan fics. Just kidding.
Maybe, if it has a lot of Draco making out.
Just kidding.

Dear anti Harry Potter fans,
Levicorpus!

Dear Matt Damon-look-a-like pal,
My dream isn't finding the perfect guy, I'm not that naive. It's being able to eat without getting fat.

Dear Micky Yoochun,
I've just started watching your series "Miss Ripley". I'm sorry but, whenever you appear on screen, I never know what you're saying. You're making it so difficult! Grrr! I'm too busy staring at your neck. I'm sorry you have a really nice neck! I swear I couldn't hear my brother yelling at me beause I was too captivated by your sexy adam's apple.

Dear self,
Are you walking the walk by faith?

Dear...

Dear self,
The temperature's dropping fast. Single girls should always carry their own jumpers around.

Dear Nigahiga,
My youtube boyfriend, I can't believe we are breathing the same city oxygen, but I didn't get to see you! So sad, oh so sad. "Mel-BORN (Melbourne)... Adel-lady (Adelaide)...." I think your attempt at the Aussie accent, was too cute. Less than three. <3.

Dear bro,
Sorry I always forget you are colour-blind, and I asked you to leave the green (pistachio) macaron for me. My heart aches a little inside every time I think of how, in the future, you won't be able to see the full spectrum of beautiful colours of my fashion collections.

Dear low self-esteem,
I'm glad we parted ways! When I realised how much I was worth, what was written on my price tag, it totally messed with my head. I'm happy with who I am.

Dear 4kg,
Oh hey, this is awkward. I didn't see you come in. I'm guessing you invited yourself onto my hips, huh. I just didn't see you coming, which I imagine was poor planning on my part.

Dear future husband,
Can you please hurry up? Everyone around me is hooking up and getting hitched!

Dear God,
I do want to fly higher. Show me the amazing view from up there! I want to keep seeing!

Dear...

Dear Self,
Look at you. You're young. Why are you so scared? Stop being paralysed. Stop swallowing your words. Stop caring what other people think. Wear what you want. Say what you want. Listen to the music you want to listen to. Play it loud and dance to it (on the walk home)! Go out for a drive at midnight and forget that you have college the next day. Stop waiting for the weekend. Take risks. Tell secrets. This life on earth is too short.

Dear rain,
Let it rain, let it rain, let it rain. It's my day off tomorrow, and I want to spend it with you.

Dear...

Dear Readers,
Thank you for taking time out of your lives to read this! Such awesome people.

Dear spell-check,
If you have no spelling suggestions for a particular word, please don't say it is misspelled. I have no time for your nonsense, when the presentation is in half an hour.

Dear "Distinction",
You made my day. The lack of sleep was totally worth it for you! Thanks for not playing hard-to-get like 'High distinction'. It just puts me off, you know? I love you so much.

Dear spiders, centipedes, and all other creepy-crawlies that come into my room,
If I see you outside, I will let you live. If I see you in my house, I will squish you. My advice? Stay out!

Dear beau garcon,
I can finally let go. I sincerely wish you well.

Dear New Heights,
I am kicking myself for not discovering your band earlier!

Dear God,
Thank you for opening my eyes to see truth.

Dear...

Dear Rebecca Black,
It's Friday, fry day, fried eggs,
You murdered my friday.
Any other day would've been fine,
But you screwed up the best day of mine.

Dear beau garcon,
I hate the fact that I don't hate you! You have a gift for humiliating me. Hate it!

Dear footpath-makers, sidewalk designers,
Please make the tiles a little longer or just really short. It's hard to not step on the cracks while still appearing to walk like a normal person.

Dear Universe,
When I muttered, "Could things get any worse?" it was a rhetorical question, not a challenge.

Dear stress-induced weight gain,
You're not helping with the stress.

Dear College,
It's week 3, and I feel I am 10 weeks behind. Why do this to me? It's too cruel.

Dear weight loss commercials,
It's good to know that not only will I lose the rolls, but I will also get a tan and a sexy new hairstyle! And in just 3 months!

Dear 11:11,
You owe me six dates with that cute guy, a snowy day, a shopping spree in New York City, thirteen MacBook Pros, and my lost camera and Marc Jacobs duty-free returned.
Dear man who shared his umbrella with me,
Thank you for your kindness! It was just like in the movies. Except that it wasn't love at first sight.

Dear God,
Help me rediscover you.

Dear...

Dear tall, brooding, stylish Asian boy, who was so stylish, I kept following because of your stylishness,
I didn't even get to see your face, maybe just the tip of your nose? It was your messy hair and effortlessly cool clothes and vintage leather bag and your individualist attitude that captured my attention. Without realising, I followed your slouchy minimalistic, subdued colour-cordinated, perfectly proportioned outfit from Soho, all the way to 36th street.

Dear New York City
I miss the concrete jungle where dreams are made of. You were my eye-opener, and dream catcher. I'm losing my motivation to study and get ahead. Help!

Dear lecturer
I'm in disbelief. I can't believe you said statement shoulders are in fashion now, like now. Um, no. According to the runways, they are a long gone trend. I mean they are so two-thousand-and-ten! I am just seriously disappointed. And I can't get over the fact that you're not trend aware. I know I'm overreacting, but I can't help that it bothers me. Probably because it is a passion and obsession of mine, and is to be a profession of mine in the future.

Dear Susan, Christina, and Jessica,
We remind me of The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants. I love our weekly catch-ups, and deep and meaningful conversations about boys, future husbands, life, natural disasters (well, in today's case), Bear Grylls, boys, self-esteem, insecurities, family, wedding dresses, boys and finding the right one. Let's continue to encourage each other, and grow (up) together as beautiful and confident women.
Dear Autumn,
When are you officially here? Until when do I have to sweat it out every morning just to walk to the train station?

Dear readers,
Leave me a comment or two?

Dear future husband,
Every year, my window of hope just gets smaller and smaller. But I know you're out there, so I won't lower my standards.

Dear God,
You are my hiding place and safe refuge.

Dear...

Dear Ryan Gosling look-alike,

Or was it really you Ryan? No, couldn't be. Nevertheless, I think I stopped breathing for a Guinness World Record-breaking fifteen minutes.

Dear William P. Young,
Your book, "The Shack" made me cry in the subway, during rush hour. When I tried to restrain myself, I ended up sort of silently sobbing. Not many books have done that to me.

Dear future husband,
I hope you enjoy coffee as much as I do. Today I went to three different cafes, one after another, just for the sake of testing out their barista and blend. Tell me I'm not mental. We could battle caffeine withdrawal symptoms together later, yay!

Dear below freezing temperatures,
You make my nose and cheeks embarassingly drunk-red, and my ears want to fall off. You definately make it hard to get out of bed in the mornings thanks to my ice-box bedroom. But stick around... you do make everything better.

Dear Psalms,
You have satisfied my soul.

Dear Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf,
You were the only franchise cafe that offered me true New York cheesecake in th city.  You don't know how hard I've searched far and wide, so kudos to you!

Dear God,
Thank you for helping me tick off one by one, the boxes in my mental list. You are too good.

Dear self,
Remember that you're not just surrounded by problems, but you are surrounded by divine favour.

Dear...

Dear Sydney,
I miss your sunshine rays, I miss your long days, I miss your North Shore, I miss mummy's cooking, I miss daddy's warmth, I miss jumping on my brother's bed, I miss taking up all the space of my double bed, I miss Lulu's purrs, I miss the Pan offsprings, I miss ordering my coffee with skim and soy options, I miss your friendly baristas, I miss your juicy $10 steaks, I miss your illuminated Opera House, I miss your trains, even though they don't come on time, just because I'm almost always garaunteed a seat, I miss not feeling like a sardine in a tin on public transport, I miss your simple and uncomplicate streets and numbering system, I miss the peace at night and only hearing the sound of dancing crickets, I miss not feeling like a giantess compared to the rest of the female population, I miss extremely good-looking boy, I miss having to poop whenever I want, I miss being nursed properly with comfort food and comforting words, I miss not being eyed pitifully for being single, and, and, and... old! I miss having more wardrobe options and the extensive range of underwear, I miss your humour and inside jokes, gosh, I even miss your unrefined accent.

Dear New York,
Is everybody in New York just gorgeous? Like is there a rule on the island where you're not allowed in unless you're a babe?

Dear beau garcon,
It's unbelievable how you can make me feel depressingly, old, ugly and fat. I think I'm too numb to feel pain at the moment. But I know, this feeling will wear off, and I will be able to say I'm honestly happy for you. In the meanwhile, I'll just be half way around the world from you.

Dear R.e.l
Don't risk tearing your beautiful eye out for me. If you do decide to, you'd still be the most beautiful cyclopse I know. You are totally right, woman. 2011 is a brand new year - I will work my butt off, and "become... AN AWESOME DESIGNER". I miss you too. Clearly.

Dear future husband,
I know you will restore my faith in the male species. Come quickly before I lose all respect for young men, and just become a scary feminist woman (though, I will still shave my armpits when it is ripe for harvest). I (more than) sometimes wonder and dream if our first meeting will be like the encounters of the two protagonists in The NotebookP.S I Love You, or more like Pride and Prejudice. I doubt it'll be like The Lakehouse, but a girl can always dream.
Dear self,
I'm glad after soul searching in Seoul (rhymes!) you have grasped the very secret and wisdom to prosperity and success, that many reject or don't know. Later on the years, people will see, and will want to know this secret. Be there to share it as a living example for those who don't know, and want to know. Let them see what they are missing out.

Dear God,
I really, really, really, really want a Mac Book Pro, and lasik eye surgery. But you know my financial circumstances.

Dear...

Dear loyal readers,
I apologise for my lack of posts. I haven't had a chance at a couple of hours in front of the computer since November. Also, I have always been sorry, as a blogger, for lacking the skills of a photographer boyfriend, the many fashion bloggers have.

Dear Opendoor family members,
I miss you all. I hope the aussie summer is treating you well!

Dear snowy days,
Where are you? Last time you showed up unexpectedly, I wasn't ready, and so my outfit was soiled. But now I bought my snow gear (adorable mittens, soft rabbit-fur ear muffs) and I am right here waiting for you, to jump out and attack anyone in my sight with deadly snow balls.

Dear Chan-siblings
You two are a virtuous influence on me. Even though you're both younger than me, your wisdom and spirituality is beyond your years. You two have talents that will take you places and I can't wait to see the amazing man and woman you will become. I always have been, and will be proud of you. Keep being light in action, and an instrument of praise. Don't forget our pledge; to be there for each other's wedding no matter where in the world it is. (But give me at least 6 months notice.)

Dear Micky Yoochun,
It's been 6 years since you swept me off my feet and my love for you still remains unwaivered and has grown from an unhealthy teenage obsession to a genuine admiration. Only you make it possible to be 'adorkable' and sexy at the same time. And numerous times have I said this to my unfortunate friends, and it was confirmed once again in a recent YouTube video, but your legs are really, truly, underrated. Thank you for not changing all these years. Although your voice just gets sexier and sexier. Always keep the faith.

Dear good-looking boy,
Notice that I've taken out the word 'extremely'. It's the out of sight, out of mind thing. Nevertheless, you will still be my male sartorial muse for your effortless sense of style, and I have to admit, your model-esque-ness.

Dear God,
Thank you for creating me uniquely, like no other. I want to be a designer with a grander vision like the Ultimate Designer.

Dear self,
Just another reminder that you are Number 1 to Him, and helping people enter the Kingdom of God is a more compelling adventure.

Dear...

Dear sky-diving instructor,
My elation multiplied when I found out you were to be my instructor. You are too lion-hearted. I don't know what was more exciting; free falling off a plane at over 4000 feet, or having you jump off with me. Today my stalker tendencies kicked in and I googled you up. You're from California, and have been professionally sky-diving for 9 years? You were 2nd place at the Australian national championship. And you jumped off the Twin Falls bridge? A-ma-zing!

Dear gracious girl and gentleman who returned my lost wallet,
Thank you! I had $150 cash in there today.

Dear Halfy,
Keep doing what you do. Whether you know it or not, you affect those around you. You inspire me and encourage me and challenge me to prioritise relationships and friendships.

Dear extremely good-looking boy,
Why do you have to wear that cap? I don't think I admire guys in caps. There's a thousand other handsome options out there to complete an outfit: fedoras, bowlers, boaters, trilbies, toppers, etc. Lose the cap, please.

Dear Facebook,
Thanks a lot. I didn't do anything for the past 3 hours.

Dear future husband,
I had to renew my passport, so today I took my passport photo for the one thousandth time, and the one they accept is the one I look 50 years old with my eyes half-closed. I'm so mad. This passport expires in 10 years! I decided I am never going to show my passport to anybody. Never. Yes, not even you.

Dear world,
I am in you, but not part of you. Let's not get confused.

Dear...

Dear girl who kept staring at me on the train this morning,
What the freak? I looked and you just continued to stare. I looked away and I could still feel your glare. What's wrong with you? Do you have a problem? I turn and we make the longest eye-contact. Though out the whole ride, and even as I was getting off my stop, your eyes were on me. You creep. If I had a death stare like Tiffany's I would have used it against you.

Dear Harry Potter anti-fans and those who made fun of my Harry Potter geeky-ness,
Crucio!

Dear followers,
Thank you loyal readers for following my blog posts. Did you know, you cannot hum while holding your nose at the same time? Hmmmmmmmm. I bet you just tried to.

Dear Posh & Becks,
I've seen it all in tabloids. No, please don't break up! Work it out. Because I still have faith in Hollywood marriages!

Dear extremely good-looking boy,
I have a deep and secret fear that one day you'll come across my blog and discover all these posts about you. That would be the end of my life. Unless you are flattered and start talking to me. Wait, that would still be the end of my life because of my social disability, I wouldn't know what to say. I really dread it. In the mean time, thanks to you I write quite the entertaining posts.

Dear Asian James Franco,
Revenge is a dish best served cold. I don't honestly know what this quote means, but I've just always wanted to say it. At least you know what your friends been thinking of you, a queer! Ha.

Dear Australia's Next top model winner Amanda,
Congratulations! I voted for you with my phone, my mum's phone, my dad's phone, and then my housemate's phone. You look more the part of an international high fashion model than the other girls. Australia represent! Although, Kelsey is amazing too.

Dear self,
Starting from tomorrow, this is the new weight-loss plan. Drink lots of coffee and chai lattes (skim milk). Eat spicy food. Play computer games. Pull all-nighters. Carry heavy hand bags. Stretch, fidget and laugh a lot. All scientifically proven to fasten metabolic rate. Temporarily.

I am 23, going on 13

This has almost nothing to do with the Sound of Music. Let me just say that apparently I’m 30 going on 13. I don’t know what happened bu...
